The Big Idea

Perched on a sloping desert site, Hillside House brings Chen + Suchart Studio’s disciplined modernism together with an enclosure and building systems designed for the extremes of the Phoenix climate. Positive Energy’s MEP engineering supports steady comfort, excellent air quality, and exceptionally low energy demand while allowing the technology to disappear into a serene, secure retreat. The result is a home where performance strengthens the architecture’s quietness rather than announcing itself.
