The Big Idea

West Side Road gathers four durable, low-maintenance structures around a sheltered garden on San Juan Island. Positive Energy's MEP engineering supports a quiet environmental strategy of ground-source conditioning, natural ventilation, photovoltaics, and careful energy modeling. The systems are woven into Heliotrope's landscape-scaled architecture so comfort and resilience feel inherent to the home rather than added to it, preserving the clarity of the gabled forms and their close relationship with the island setting.

Great residential MEP work for world-class architecture is rarely seen because our coordination disappears behind walls and into refined details—it simply works as it should. The visual artists who communicate the spirit of these homes so brilliantly remind us that what we create is beautiful because it is the sum of many parts becoming a whole.
