Off-Grid

Off-Grid & Resilient Project Collaborations

Positive Energy’s mission to facilitate the grid transition to a more distributed asset model has been brought to life via a few unique projects which did not have easy access to electric or water utilities. We worked with our project collaborators to configure, engineer, and design resilient systems so that the buildings could experience operational modes independently of electric or water grid input. It’s not always appropriate for every project to be off-grid, but sometimes they have to be. For those projects that remain connected to the grid, we endeavor to make sure they have some kind of extreme event capabilities to ride through disruptions in grid connections. We are lucky and proud to work with architecture firms and construction teams focused on beautiful, forward-looking, and high performance buildings.
